‘The New American Workers Movement and the Confrontation to Come’

“The new American workers movement — born in the last few weeks in the giant protests in Wisconsin and Ohio — faces a fateful confrontation this week.  In Madison and Columbus, Republican legislators are pushing to abolish public employee labor unions and tens of thousands of workers are protesting and resisting.  We have seen nothing like this faceoff between workers and bosses in the United States since the labor upheaval of the early 1970s, though the issues in the balance are more like those of the 1930s.  The very existence of the American labor movement is at stake.  The question is: What will it take to win?”

  1. Public employees are paid by revenues generated through taxation. Excessive taxation (amongst other things) has destroyed the tax base. Private Citizens are facing a choice, pay taxes or eat. Abandoned houses are everywhere. Wisconsin Govt. will collect less in revenues than predicted. Rising fuel costs will destroy budgets. The fat lady is getting ready to sing. Default, here we come. It’s time for Private Citizens to say “Hell NO, we won’t pay”.

  2. It is time to get awaken from a consumption sleeping pill that Americans have been fed for a loooooooooooooong time. ” Consume and Sleep!”had been the main agenda on Americans’ mind until the pill got stuck in their throats, and everybody realized: “While we have been sleeping by consumption our freedoms have been taken away…” Wake up America!
America can be proud of the Founding Fathers who put the interests of the citizens in the first place. Remember what Thomas Jefferson said:
” I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
    Thomas Jefferson, (Attributed)
    3rd president of US (1743 – 1826)
Let me repeat: The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs!!!
    The waking call has come!
